School counselor and friend, Parker Debbs (Sarah Silverman) convinces him to attend Kat’s concert as a way to impress Chloe. Meanwhile, divorced, mild-mannered math teacher Charlie Gilbert (Owen Wilson) is struggling to connect with his daughter Chloe (Lou Gilbert). After their uber-popular tune, “Marry Me”, singing superstar couple Kat Valdez (Lopez) and Bastian (Maluma) are about to partake in an over-the-top, outlandish wedding in a concert setting. Universal describes the movie as a modern love story about celebrity, marriage and social media. If you’ve seen the trailer for Marry Me, you already know how this story is going to go. Bastian (Maluma) and Kat Valdez (Jennifer Lopez) (Universal) But dang it, she and Wilson are so likeable, it’s hard to dislike this film. The Kat Coiro-directed film is not going to win any awards and feels like a self-indulgent exercise for Lopez who sings a number of original songs throughout. What else is surprising about this paint-by-number film is that it’s not terrible. The Jennifer Lopez/Owen Wilson romantic comedy, Marry Me is actually based on one by Bobby Crosby.

The art is simple but it's not bad it's excellent for a webcomic I like the style well enough even if I don't like some of the design choices.Not all movies based on graphic novels entail superheroes. There's not a lot of character *growth* in this highly comedic series which is okay but still she's the only one with an arc and her storyline is pretty empty compared to our main two characters. Parker as the comic relief actually has one of the more interest arcs. a little too clean just too flawless to be interesting. Guy starts off as being considered but even by the end of this first part ends up. There's a lot of interesting hints at greater story arcs where people suspect Guy or something or cringe at Stasia and call her crazy but while people handwring about it. The fact that he takes everything in stride and wants to get to know Stasia at first is interesting. Guy the one who is just there because his best friend is a half step shy of being a stalker is interesting. Stasia as a pop star who marries someone with a marry me sign at one of her concerts because she's just so frustrated with the whole pop scene is relatable. The accidental relationship is a staple of the rom-com genre in many formats and the one here is again super super interesting. There are webcomics that manage to do this but this one tends to. I can't imagine how complicated it is to weave a major narrative when your story is told in essentially 'one page, one joke' format.

I suspect a lot of that is due to the format. Unfortunately as a whole this webcomic doesn't seem interested in that.

It seems shallow but there's a LOT of room to grow here. The premise is actually quite compelling.
